The G.R.A.B.A.C.U.N.T

The Ground Recovery Apparatus for Bodies, Anomalies, Casualties and Unattended Nuisance Threats (GRABACUNT for short) was developed to solve a long standing issue with the requirement for the individual soldier having to pull bodies and booby traps from a safe distance.

Previous methods relying on the section LID to close with and make contact with the threat in order to attach a toggle rope/pull cord for body clearing might be seen as inhumane in modern army, so VLR presents the GRABACUNT Grappling hook.

the GRABACUNT allows the Individual soldier to safely clear dead bodies and traps from a distance without risking injury or death to self. SOP’s can be developed on how to run the GRABACUNT in the section however a pull cord length of 15m divided into two bundles with  a looped handle at the end provides the best results.

- G10 users will find the hook does not throw as far and will essentially disintegrate if involved in a blast, tradeoff for being lighter weight and quieter than metal alternatives.
